Create Rain Effect Using Photoshop

This picturen taken in Genting Highland’s Theme Park which is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I saw the flowers very colorful and nice looking, then I simply snapped this picture using my Mobile Phone N73.

I’m using this picture to create a rain effect and the following show the step how to create rain effect for your picture.
1. Open an image and create a new layer by clicking on the fifth icon below the layers panel. The default name of new layer is Layer 1.

2. With the new layer selected, Go to Filter > Render > Clouds and change the opacity to 63%. (This is present on the top right of the layers panel)

3. Go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise (set Amount=60; Distribution=Gaussian and tick Monochromatic)

4. Go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur (set Angle=73 and Distance=10)

5. In the Layers panel which Layer 1 is selected, there is a drop down menu on the top left of the panel, this is used to set the blending mode for the layer, now set the blend mode to ‘screen’ mode. Now you can see the different of the image.
